The Seychelles – better known perhaps as a paradise on earth – lie in the middle of the Indian Ocean, a thousand miles from Africa and east of Madagascar. This archipelago of more than 100 islands stretches for hundreds of miles and offers warm waters, high standards, and friendly people. The friendly islands of Mahe, Praslin, LaDigue, Aldabra, and Desroches have enchanted travelers for years.

Flung across the Indian Ocean off the coast of eastern Africa are the 115 islands of the Seychelles. The inner Isles can only be described as being the most dramatic in tropical beauty anywhere. They consist of the granite mountain tops of a chain that conjoined Africa and European continents. The monolithic boulders jutting up from the sugar-sand beaches are absolutely unbelievable. Home to more colors of blue in the crystal clear waters, the ocean frames the unique and dramatic beaches.

Uninhabited until settled by the France in the late 1700’s, today it bears the heritage of France, England and the African slaves imported by each colonial power. The language is a variation of English and Creole and the culture is a similarly fascinating mix. Nowhere is the local pride in their varied culture more evident than in their food. Quality and presentation are paramount in even the humblest and most unpretentious restaurants.

As a tourist destination, the main attraction remains the beautiful beaches, sailing, sport fishing and diving. If your interests are the many natural wonders, the islands are the original home to the giant land tortoise and a rich variety of fish and birds. The experienced diver will find mostly granite formations in the central islands, reflecting their ancient geologic origin. The outer islands hold the famous coralline formations of the Amirantes Archipelago, and world class diving can be accessed at private Island resorts. Far beyond this region, is the remote World Heritage site, Aldabra Atoll which can only be resourced by exclusive expeditions to "The 'Galapagos' of the Indian Ocean."

The immaculate, uncrowded beaches with powder-soft white sands, warm turquoise waters, spectacular diving spots where few have gone before, untouched forests, and exotic bird sanctuaries will delight you. So why not explore the amazing underwater world with its forests of white, red, blue, and orange corals, circled by vast shoals of fabulous reef fish, each trying to outdo the other in color and design? And why not go parasailing for an exhilarating experience and views out of this world? Indeed, why not!

Accommodations including five-star lodges, exotic hideaways and resorts, hotels large and small are offered on 16 islands. You may be enticed to cruise the warm azure waters of this spectacular archipelago, its romantic bays and deserted beaches, with the wide selection of both sail and power craft available. After each day of dreams comes true, you can relax with dinner by the beach, or in one of the excellent restaurants. The spicy food is delicious. And after a wonderful meal you can dance into the night with the locals or stroll along the shore by moonlight.
