Guided by Manuel "Caballito" Rodriguez, a local legendary diver and native of the area with 20 years experience, your adventure submerges you in sun, sand, culture . Manuel is a native of Yucatan Pennensula, born in Tulum and raised in Medera. He started diving at an early age and has acquired his PADI certification, is a full cave diver for NACO.He is also an advanced open water instructor for the SSI and TDI nitrox diver. Suggested Itinerary for Mayan World 2010 · Day 1 Arrival to Cancun International airport and transfer to Chiquila where we will take the ferry or boat to · Day 2 Whale shark safari. Boat pick up at the beach of the hotel at 8 a.m. The boat has a shade, cooling beverages, and snacks. The duration of the trip is 4 to 5 hrs. · Day 3 Hammock potato day. Relax at the beach or at one of the many hammocks of the resort. · Day 4 Pick up at the hotel at 9 a.m. and transportation to the mainland by ferry (30 min). To Ek Balam mayan Mayan ruins (1hr) for a private guided tour by a certified bilingual Mayan guide ( 2 hrs). After the ruins we will visit Cenote X’kekem (20 min away) where the guests have a chance to swim and cool off. Later we visit the charming town of · Day 5 Celestun Biosphere (Flamingos). Pickup time 9 a.m. Celestun is 1 hr away from · Day 6 · Day 7
· Day 8 · Day 9 Canon del Sumidero national park. Pickup at 9 a.m. for a 45 minute drive to the park. We will take a private boat to visit the canyon for 2 hrs and then return to
· Day 11 Snorkeling Trip Pickup time 10 a.m. for the snorkeling trip of your choice either at the Mesoamerican Mayan barrier reef with lots of marine life and the chance to admire Mayan ruins from the sea or a cenote snorkel. We can visit Gran Cenote and its beautiful caverns and Casa Cenote where the cenotes meet the sea. The tour duration is about 3 hrs. We recommend visiting the Mayan ruins located on a bluff overlooking the sea in the late afternoon after the many tour buses from the all inclusive resorts are gone. · Day 12 Siaa’n Kaan biosphere tour 9 a.m. pick up time and transportation to the biosphere for a boat tour in the canals and lagoons. We will also visit Xlapac a Mayan ruin in the middle of the mangroves and where will be jumping in the water for a nice floating relaxation swim. Tour time 3-4 hours. · Day 13 Playa del Carmen is located 45 min away from Tulum the check out time from the hotel is at 10 a.m. We can stop in a remote beach for lunch and a swim, if desired. Check in at Playa Palms resort at 3 p.m. where they will be staying in one bedroom junior suite ocean view room. The hotel is located near the famous
· Day 14 packing and relaxing day. Diving and excursions available. · Day 15 transport to airport. Included in the trip: Entrances fees and guided tours in the national parks, archeological zones and biospheres
Not included in the trip is airfare, tips, meals and beverages. For planning purposes I would need to know the exact days for the trip for pricing. Given the amount of logistics involved and the different types of activities, I need to make sure things are arranged well in advance.
